Full professor at the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil). Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, and Master and PhD degrees in Biological Sciences – Biochemistry. Her research is focused on the biological effects and digestive transformation of food bioactive phytochemicals, with a special interest on the reuse of agro-industrial byproducts as sources of bioactive compounds. She has advised Master, PhD and post doctorate studies in Food Science and Technology, Pharmacology and Biochemistry and has numerous peer reviewed publications.
